With over 30 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, Harry Conforti brings a unique and diverse perspective to the table for assistance with a wide range of business undertakings.
He began working as a bartender in 1977 while attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. His passion for bartending soon turned into a decade of managing and operating a variety of establishments for a fast growing group of Bostonıs best known bars, nightclubs and restaurantsLyons Group Management. Harry was fortunate to ride along with Patrick Lyons on an on-premise road trip, and be involved first hand with the growth from one nightclub to a conglomerate of bars, clubs, and restaurants.
In 1990 the owners of Lyons Group, Patrick Lyons and Edward Sparks, asked Harry to pursue a new avenue for the group and promoted him to the position of Vice President of Purchasing. Over the next 15 years, He transformed the way beverages were purchased, promoted and ordered by focusing on attaining maximum profitability and promotional support for the entire group. He found a way to integrate the unique demands of LGM properties from rock clubs and alternative dance venues to casual fine dining. Harry spent over 15 years in this capacity cultivating relationships with all aspects of the beverage industry, from suppliers and distributors to the bar managers and their customers.
His exclusive perspective of the entire industry has enabled him in recent years to begin his own consulting company, Special OPS, which concentrates on helping bars and restaurants maximize their returns through intelligent buying, marketing and inventory control.
Harry has been immersed in the beverage business since 1977 developing one of the broadest and most well informed backgrounds to be found anywhere. Special OPS allows him to bring this expertise and experience to customers from any angle of the business.
Currently Harry is working on a project for Lucky Strike Lanes-Lounge and Helping to developing and overseeing The PUMA Nightclub & Bar during The Volvo Ocean Race Stopover in Boston this spring is his latest project. Harry has written and published a number of industry articles over the years and is currently a featured columnist for the Bay State Beverage Guide, a trade publication for all things alcohol beverage related in Massachusetts.
